For the sake of the visualization we added the 2 PAC12 teams to the independent school section since they’re treated as independent in playoff rankings.
Independent schools can’t be conference champions so they aren’t eligible for a top 5 seed or first round bye game, that’s why the second dot is skipped in the top 25 (possibly resembling Notre Dame).
